The COVID-19 pandemic made my life feel like living in a cave, merging my living room, bedroom, and studio into a multifunctional creative space. In the kitchen, the gentle flow of water reminds me of life’s fragility. Preparing fish feels like a ritual, blurring the boundary between people and food. This inner dialogue prompted me to capture daily life with my phone, questioning materiality and revealing the hidden emptiness in everyday moments.

In my life, I enjoy observing subtle movements and changes, leading me to believe that things and relationships are constantly evolving. This focus allows me to redefine meanings and discover potential value. In my work “We Burn, We Tremble,” I explored the fascinating reflections between flames and leaves, using technology to record and analyze their movements. This process not only deepened my understanding but also blurred the boundaries between thinking and doing.

My work, AAA-AAA by Le, continues my exploration after Husband and Wife Run in Sync. Inspired by Marina Abramović and Ulay, I emphasize the dynamic nature of interaction, pushing it into new dimensions. By hiding participants' images and using digital editing, I free them from fixed identities, allowing a reevaluation of human connections. This work challenges our understanding of identity and aims to create deep minimalism through pure colors, shapes, and actions.

In 2010, seeing Marina Abramović's retrospective at MoMA sparked my interest in the evolution of performance art - from minimal documentation to ubiquitous recording. Inspired by Abramović and Ulay's "Relation in Time," I explored using digital tools to capture the essence of physical action, beyond theatrical contexts. My 2017 work " Husband and Wife Run in Sync " continued this investigation into redefining performance art for the digital age.

Light and shadow form the foundation of my practice, embodying not just their own duality but the underlying tensions inherent in human perception and experience. Through reflective materials, I seek to create spaces where such opposites coexist, however precariously. By juxtaposing extremes, I aim to evoke an aesthetic uncertainty - light and shadow becoming gateways to explore broader dichotomies.

Light has always captivated me - the way it dances on reflective surfaces, how it shifts with the movement of water. These luminous phenomena are like a kaleidoscope, endlessly fascinating in their symbolic potential. By incorporating these illuminated spaces, I aim to evoke a sense of the surreal and encourage contemplation. I love spending quiet moments by sunlit lakes, watching fish beneath the surface and experiencing pure, sublime emotions. This exploration of the "infinite" drives my artistic practice.

Le Xi finds fascination in the most ordinary, everyday moments, exemplified by his "Wiping Glass" piece where he becomes immersed in the ritual of cleaning windows. Rejecting traditional notions of art, Le Xi's goal is to uncover the deeper meaning and poetry inherent in commonplace behaviors, repositioning the artist as a sensitive mediator who transforms overlooked experiences into new perspectives for the viewer. He situates the human body within its material context, moving away from the idea of the lofty, individual creator toward a more holistic, interconnected view

Moving to New York in 2000, Le Xi's art practice shifted from paintings to multimedia explorations. Capturing overlapping spaces and contradictions through photography and video, the artist "made the in-between, rather than depict it." Performances like "White House" blurred boundaries of substance and shadow, merging body, time, and space. The diversity of New York inspired Le Xi to continuously explore life's complexities through dynamic interplay of differences.

I believe that the spaces that truly exist should expand the realm of infinite possibilities by reconfiguring the structures and boundaries of reality. This perspective, liberated from pre-existing frameworks, allows me to reshape reality through artistic practice.

My work "Blue Bladelike Grass" explores the rhythmic movements of plants and the organic qualities between the natural and artificial worlds. By juxtaposing an artificial object with a natural one, I aim to prompt the viewer to reconsider traditional boundaries and classifications. The animated grass challenges the divisions between the artificial and the natural.
